Welcome to the cmbd - Mindfulness

Focus – Finding the Space for Success (Mindfulness) 8 x 2 hour sessions (one per week for 8 weeks)

- Make better decisions;

- Have a stronger sense of self;

- Build better relationships;

- Connect and empathise with other people;

- Handle multiple commitments without feeling under pressure; and

- Have clarity and focus.

We are more motivated, energised, positive, confident and resilient, choosing to respond to situations rather than simply react. We're in touch with the world around us and more able to lead a healthy life. With greater resilience we feel more in control, see challenges as opportunity and have greater commitment. All of this helps us feel more balanced, less stressed and able to achieve more – at work and in our personal lives.

The CMBD Focus programme is based on the world renowned Centre for Mindfulness, Bangor University, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Programme (MBSR). It consists of eight two hour sessions, once a week over an eight week period and regular practice between sessions. All participants will receive a workbook, meditation CDs and email support during the eight weeks of the course and for four weeks after it ends. The programmer is led by experienced mindfulness teachers with a maximum of 20 delegates per programme and is normally run on an in-house basis.

Designed for:

The course is ideal for anyone looking to develop their self awareness, resilience, creativity, listening skills and decision making, leadership and management capability; work and home balance and for seeking clarity on decision making. The course can stand alone but is also linked to the CMBD series that includes The Emotional Intelligence Programme and the Emotional Intelligence and Personal Impact course for managers and leaders. Details of these can be viewed by clicking the links.

You will learn:

How to:

- Pay attention in the moment; and

- Recognise and regulate your feelings, thoughts and behaviours, even in the most stressful
  situations.

- This will help you respond better, become more aware of your impact on others, and observe and
  participate in the here and now.

With practice, you will find you:

- Worry less and feel calmer;

- Feel more in control of how you respond to other people and difficult situations;

- Are more able to focus on your tasks; and

- Become more effective at leading others.
